Insurance for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Beacons events and associated events

To help you obtain the appropriate insurance advice, Unity Insurance Services can arrange insurance specifically for your Beacons event.
This product has been created to help ensure communities will be covered for any number of different events and activities that are taking place, ranging from local community street parties to lighting an official Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Beacon on the weekend of 2nd June 2022.

The insurance cover

We’ve designed a scheme with a specialist charity insurer who will underwrite your event.  Features and benefits of the scheme are:

A package including Public Liability cover and All Risks cover for your event

Public Liability cover protects your legal liability for any injury to the public or damage to their property occurring during the period of insurance. This includes liability arising from the sale of or supply of goods at the event and will automatically cover your beacon or bonfire.

• Public Liability Insurance- £5M indemnity limit as a minimum 

All Risks covers any loss or damage within the UK to property you own or are responsible for, e.g. hired in equipment.

• Standard cover for your equipment with a sum insured of £10K.

Optional Additional Covers

Cancellation cover

Cancellation cover operates to ensure you are covered for specific expenses and irrecoverable charges incurred should you be unable to proceed with the event due to circumstances beyond your control..

Money cover

Loss of Money covers you in the event that money is lost or stolen and. If you are arranging an event where tickets are sold or products are on sale, make sure you’re protected.  (Cover is subject to a variety of limits depending on the circumstances of the theft or misappropriation.)

Higher level of All Risks cover

If you’re equipment is likely to exceed the automatic limit of 10,000, we can arrange a quote for an increased level of cover.

Employers’ Liability cover

Employers’ Liability protects your legal liability for injury to employees and volunteers caused as part of the event during the period of insurance.
